git-universe turns your local repo into a solar system: a star for the repo, a planet for every language, sized and colored by how much of your code it makes up. Commit history shapes how alive each world looks. Private repos become a black hole — nothing visible from outside.

Center
Public repos get a star. Private repos collapse into a black hole — an event horizon that hides everything inside, by design.
Planets
Each language in your codebase becomes a planet — color and size come straight from its share of your total lines of code. Extract them for resources: Hydrogen Crystal from Python, Ion Shard from TypeScript, Ferrite Ore from Rust, and more.
Life
Commit history drives maturity. Older, more active planets show city lights on their dark side; young or quiet ones stay unlit.

Your systems
Import a repo from Manage to make it a system: public repos become stars with language planets, while private repos become black holes that reveal nothing about their contents.
Flying around
Click planets and stars to inspect them, warp between systems in a galaxy, or browse everyone's public constellations on Explore.
Resources
Public planets slowly produce language-flavored minerals. Private black holes produce the same content-blind Void Essence rate, no matter what the repo contains. Rust, C++, and C mine noticeably more valuable minerals than the rest, reflecting their low-level, closer-to-the-metal reputation.
Credits and supply
Collect resources in your Inventory, sell only the minerals you choose for Credits, and use Mara's supply stock when you need a material quickly.
Living worlds
Spend Credits to terraform and cultivate planets you own. Those permanent upgrades make each world more productive and visibly more alive.
Galaxies and privacy
Use Manage to group systems into public or private galaxies and give systems nicknames. Public galleries can include private systems, which always stay sealed as black holes.

Before you launch

WebGL2 required. A recent Chrome, Firefox, or Edge works out of the box. Safari needs version 15 or later (September 2021) — older Safari can't render this at all, not just slowly, and you'll see a fallback message instead of a blank screen.

The scene renders in real time with postprocessing (bloom, reflections), so hardware-accelerated graphics make a real difference — integrated graphics still work, just expect a choppier frame rate on denser systems.
